VCD HD Found Success in Eastern Europe
Media manufacturers are increasingly adopting VCD HD, a single layer optical disc format of only 0.6mm thickness, but at the same time providing 4.7GB storage capacity.
One of the producers to appreciate the format’s advantages and its easy producibility is BAK Poland. Last month the company successfully started the manufacturing of VCD HD and has already achieved very satisfying results.
BAK has high expectations from the format and has therefore installed a VDL ODMS DEX plus replication line. The main focus for the disc is the magazine and newspaper mounting but the company will also manufacture for third parties.
The format also gains popularity in the Ukraine where Rostok-CD based in Kyiv has expanded the production capacity for VCD HD discs by adding an additional Netstal moulding machine, equipped with Axxicon VCD HD mould.Rostok-CD has been closely involved in the VCD HD development since the very beginning.
